By now we all know that Google is far and away the #1 Search Engine in the world. What most people don’t realize is that YouTube is the second most used Search Engine in the World. So that means
YouTube is more popular than Bing, Yahoo and all the other Search Engines in which so many people work to get noticed!
Which makes me wonder why more people don’t try to get noticed on YouTube? The answer is probably because it takes training and practice to make a good video tour.
So if you’re considering advertising on YouTube, it makes sense to first see who ELSE is already advertising, and what quality videos they’re publishing. If noone else is advertising using video tours, you have a wide open market with NO COMPETITION!
Research your YouTube market two ways:
The first is by searching for your competitors. In my case, that means searching ‘West Palm Beach Rental Home’ or ‘Palm Beach Gardens condo for sale’. You’ll quickly get an idea of who else is on YouTube. Notice the quality of their videos, and then look to see how many views they’re getting on their channel.
The second is to set up a Google Alert to notify you whenever new videos are posted with the same keywords you just searched for. Set the ‘type’ to video and the ‘volume’ to all results. You will now receive an email notification of all new video tours your competition publishes!
My company comes up in 90% of the videos returned in the above search terms. That’s the same as owning 90% of the first page on GOOGLE! Do I have competition? A little, but not much. And all of the other videos lack the fundamentals taught in our online training.
I’ve also set up a Google Alert that will notify me when other videos are posted, so I’m keeping an eye on my marketplace to see who is out there. In the meantime? I HAVE NO COMPETITION, and with a good video program neither will you!
In a future post I will talk about how many people actually Search for and FIND what they want on YouTube, and how you can best set up your videos to be found, watched and convert viewers to CUSTOMERS.
