According to a recent article at Mashable.com, “73% of homeowners say they’re more likely to list with a Realtor offering to do a video, yet only a small fraction of agents have a YouTube channel?”
The survey, performed by Postlings.com of over 7,500 of their accounts goes on to conclude “Real Estate Professionals may not see the immediate benefit to offering video just yet… but it’s there!”
It’s hard to believe that such a small percentage of Realtors use video, when so many homeowners want it. This author thinks that might be because agents are intimidated by videos. What’s more, most Realtors who have a YouTube channel only use videos that promote themselves, or photographic “virtual tours“. The difference between a real estate “virtual tour” and a “video tour” is like the difference between an old silent movie versus the blockbuster Star Wars!.
“Virtual Tour” – a series of still photographs stitched together, with some titles and a music background that leaves a LOT to the imagination…
vs
“Video Tour” – a complete video walk through tour of a property, from which a Home Shopper can learn virtually everything about your listing!
There’s a vast difference between these two tours, as most real estate pros are learning. But home shoppers sure know the difference, and call our real estate office every week to say how much they love the video tours we put on all of our listings!
Do home owners really notice the difference when it comes time to choose their next listing agent? Listen as we talk with one of our customers who actually lost a listing to a competitor that offered video tours:
